#Ukrainian #agricultural #companies sold much more #agricultural #products over the past eight months: Ukrainian agricultural #exports grew by 24.5% compared to the same period last year. The main exports were #sunflower #oil, #safflower or #cottonseed oil, #maize, #wheat and wheat #mixtures, as well as #poultry. The major #export #partners of #Ukraine included #India, #Egypt, the #Netherlands, #Spain and #China.
In the first eight months of 2017, exports of Ukrainian agricultural products grew by 24.5% or by USD 2.4 billion compared to the same period last year. According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, in total, they have reached USD 11.5 billion.
In particular, the key export products included sunflower oil, safflower or cottonseed oil with a share of 26.25% of total agricultural exports, maize (20.34%), wheat and wheat mixtures (12.87%), and poultry (2.29 %).
The largest export partners of Ukraine in agricultural trade are India (exports amount to USD 1.3 billion), Egypt (USD 986.1 million), the Netherlands (USD 762.8 million), Spain (USD 731.6 million) and China (USD 631.8 million).
According to Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on European Integration Olga Trofimtseva exports of agricultural products to European countries grew by 37.3% or USD 988 million – to USD 3.6 billion. The EU countries are the second largest partner of Ukraine in the export of agricultural products and foods. The EU countries account for 35.2% of Ukrainian agricultural trade with foreign states.
In particular, it should be noted that exports of such products as vegetable oil to the EU countries rose by 19.7% and amounted to USD 1.01 billion. In addition, exports of poultry and by-products rose by USD 80.3 million (by 80.7%). Furthermore, margarine exports grew 8.4-fold to USD 21.8 million.
These data are considered to indicate an increase in the annual Ukrainian exports of agricultural products and foods by 15-20%.
According to the data provided by the Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, in 2016 the Ukrainian agricultural exports amounted to USD 15.5 billion, accounting for 42.5% of the country’s total exports.
